| | Mark D. Oberlander, M.D. A Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Oberlander graduated from Indiana University Medical School in 1994. He performed a transitional residency at Ball Medical Hospital in Muncie Indiana and then completed an Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas in Galveston. Dr. Oberlander practiced in Ft. Myers with world-renowned cataract surgeon David Brown, and now resides in St. Petersburg with his wife, son and daughter. | | Jason M. Handza, D.O. Dr. Jason Handza, President of Gulf Coast Retina Specialists, P.L.L.C, is an independent contractor providing retina care for patients at Eye Associates of Pinellas. Dr. Handza is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in the treatment of retinal diseases, including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal detachments and laser surgery. He has been involved in many research studies, recently as a Co-Investigator in the study of Lucentis, the revolutionary new treatment for “wet” macular degeneration. Dr. Handza received his medical degree with honors from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his post graduate fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the nationally respected University of South Florida Eye Institute. He has trained under many well known physicians considered to be experts in the field of ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery. Patients appreciate Dr. Handza’s personalized care and concern for how their vision affects their life. He takes the time to ensure that every patient understands his or her eye problem and the appropriate treatment options.  | | Robert C. Urban, Jr., M.D., L.L.C Dr. Urban is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He is an independent contractor for Eye Associates of Pinellas in addition to providing patient care at his office at 32615 US 19 North in Palm Harbor. Dr. Urban graduated in 1983 with a B. A. from Columbia University where he was a New York State Regents Scholar. He received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine where he graduated with the highest honors, and was a Joseph Collins Foundation Scholar and President of the Class of 1987. Dr. Urban completed his internship at the Winthrop University Hospital, followed by residency training in ophthalmology at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and glaucoma fellowship training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary-Harvard Medical School. Dr. Urban has a keen interest in international ophthalmology. He has served as a visiting Ophthalmic surgeon at the Rosales National Hospital in El Salvador, the Rodolfo Robles National Eye Hospital in Guatamala and the Aravind National Eye Hospital in India. Prior to joining Eye Associates of Pinellas, Dr. Urban served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Tampa General Hospital and Director of the Glaucoma Service at the University of South Florida. Dr. Urban lives in Oldsmar with his wife, Jeannie, and their three daughters. | 
 | | John B. Wachter, O.D. Proud owner of Eye Associates of Pinellas, graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1990, where he received clinical honors and was a member of the Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa. His residency in ocular pathology was completed locally at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in 1991. Dr. Wachter was one of the first doctors to complete training in CRT (corneal refractive technology) and has been successfully correcting patient's vision while they sleep for over two years. Dr. Wachter is a member of the Pinellas Optometric Association and was also President of the POA in 1996. Dr. Wachter resides in Tarpon Springs with his wife, son and daughter. His hobbies include coaching his son's baseball team, being a spectator of his daughter's gymnastics, and helping the community. He is active politically to ensure a fair and adequate healthcare system. | 
 | | Peter H. Lehmann, O.D. Dr. Peter Lehmann, O.D. graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois in May 2000 where his honors included Dean's list and the Gold Key award. After graduation he was accepted into the residency program at Bay Pines Veterans Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, which specialized in Medical-based Optometry. Locally, Dr. Lehmann is a member of the Florida Optometric Association as well as the Pinellas County Optometric Association. Dr. Lehmann is also one of the first Doctors in the area to be certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). Dr. Lehmann resides in St. Petersburg where his hobbies include biking and swimming. | |
